Great news! The new E lucevan le Stelle recording has been puplished worldwide by the french label Alpha. Two parallel productions, Number 16 of the Franco Maria Ricci magazine and this recording, number 108 in the Alpha catalog, have been presented simutaneously worldwide. Two wonderful productions featuring the same absolute beauty. These combined productions, dedicated to the baroque spanish musician Diego Ortiz (listen to the interview - in italian- that Maestro Mencoboni gave in october 2005 to dacapoalfine.it about the recording) and to the Neapolitan Fine Arts environment of the 16th century, was expected since 2005. At the heart of this production is creative director, Maestro Mencoboni. The whole project originated in 2004, when, commissioned by the Ambronay Festival (FR), Maestro Mencoboni discovered some written music with references to 16th century Naples. His finding brings light to Ortiz`Musices Liber Primus, dated 1565, and represents probably his most important discovery so far. Maestro Mencoboni himself recorded, produced and directed the music. For this occasion he also wrote the AD VESPERAS story. Then, he involved Mr Jean Paul Combet of the Alpha label in the project. Alpha issued the recording as well as the illustrious FMR magazine which published the story. Last but not least, Maestro Mencoboni called on the outstanding italian actor Toni Servillo as well as the young french actor Frank Provvedi to read and record the story, and the great actress Olivia Williams now available here for you. A new last recording was done during the night of the 30th august by the dutch baritone Max van Egmond that also took care of the translation in dutch from the italian language. The very last recording has been done in genuary ath the Teatro da Cornucopia with the portuguise actor Luis Miguel Cintra, that you can listen and download ath the end of the page. These days, in which we have finally realized such a great and ambitious project, represent for E Lucevan le Stelle a moment of pride and joy. Sono stati presentati contemporaneamente in tutto il mondo il numero 16 di FMR e il cd 108 di Alpha, due produzioni parallele dallo stesso sapore di bellezza assoluta. Era da più di un anno che si attendeva l’uscita di questa produzione congiunta dedicata alla musica di Diego Ortiz (ascoltate l’intervista che Marco Mencoboni ha concesso nell’ottobre 2005 a dacapoalfine.it a riguardo di questa incisione) e al mondo pittorico napoletano della fine del ‘500. Al centro di tutto questo Marco Mencoboni, dal quale tutto il progetto ha origine alla fine del 2004, quando su commissione del festival di Ambronay (FR) cerca e scopre del materiale musicale riconducibile alla Napoli del ‘500. Il musices liber primus di Diego Ortiz, del 1565, ritorna a vivere ed è a tutt’oggi forse la più importante riscoperta che dobbiamo a Marco Mencoboni. Lo stesso, non pago di aver trovato, inciso, prodotto e diretto la musica, di aver coinvolto Jean Paul Combet dell’etichetta Alpha, di aver coinvolto insieme al discografico francese la prestigiosa rivista FMR, non pago di tutto ciò, nello sprint finale ha anche bussato alla porta dell’attore Toni Servillo per la versione italiana, il giovanissimo attore Frank Provvedi per la versione francese e la splendida attrice Olivia Williams per la versione in inglese. Una recente registrazione vede invece protagonista il celebre baritono olandese Max van Egmond che ha anche curato la traduzione dall’italiano all’olandese. L’ultimo capitolo è stata la registrazione realizzata in gennaio al Teatro della Cornucopia di Lisbona, grazie alla disponibilità dell’attore Luis Miguel Cintra, che potete ascoltare o scaricare alla fine di questa pagina.. Con piacere hanno tutti e tre accettato di dare il loro contributo leggendo e registrando il racconto Ad Vesperas, scritto per l’occasione da Marco Mencoboni, pubblicato da FMR e ora anche disponibile qui per voi.
