Cantar Lontano is proud to announces its presence in 2010 edition of prestigious Ravenna festival with a double-header scheduled for June 16th.
Cantar Lontano will present Ad Vesperas by Diego Ortiz, solemn Vespers of spanish Naples, at 21 pm, at the Byzantine Basilica of San Vitale. After the concert the ones who would like to immerse themselves more deeply into Cantar Lontano sounds may continue the night, with the same ticket, relying on the atmosphere that will be raised in the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore at 23:30 pm with the execution of Leçones de Tenebres, one of the masterpieces of French organist Francois Couperin. Peculiarity of this concert, based on biblical lamentations of Jeremiah prophet, is the gradual extinguishing of 15 candles during the execution, representing the darkness hanging over the world, except for the flame of hope thth never dies. The Rites of Darkness are entrusted to the extraordinary voices of Lia Serafini and Pamela Lucciarini, with the accompaniment of Cristiano Contadini and the direction of Marco Mencoboni.

Cantar Lontano annuncia la sua presenza nell’edizione 2010 del prestigioso festival di Ravenna con un doppio appuntamento in calendario per il 16 giugno.
Cantar Lontano presenterà Ad Vesperas di Diego Ortiz, Vespri solenni della Napoli spagnola, alle ore 21, nella basilica bizantina di San Vitale.
Al termine del concerto chi vorrà immergersi più a fondo nelle sonorità del Cantar Lontano potrà proseguire, con lo stesso biglietto, affidandosi alle atmosfere che saranno sollevate nella basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore quando alle 23.30 avrà luogo l'esecuzione delle Leçones de Tenebres, uno dei capolavori riconosciuti dell’organista francese Francois Couperin. Peculiarità di questo concerto, basato sulle bibliche lamentazioni del profeta Geremia, è lo spegnimento graduale di 15 candele durante l’esecuzione, a rappresentare l’oscurità incombente sul mondo, fatta salva la sola fiammella della speranza. I Riti delle Tenebre sono affidati alle straordinarie voci di Lia Serafini e Pamela Lucciarini, con l'accompagnamento di Cristiano Contadin e la direzione di Marco Mencoboni.
